If he understood the concept, Arley would rue the day he ever started picking up on human nervous habits. Like pacing. And wringing his hands. The motion made him forget the pressure-pain in his chest, as did the sound from the transportalizer. Which did little more than make him turn towards it and freeze, looking at Jake with one of those ‘I am so very sorry’ looks and fidgeting where he stood, waiting for him to come closer.
